ADHD – Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder/Executive Functioning Evaluations
Executive functioning evaluations are utilized with children whose parents or teachers are concerned about their ability to sustain their focus and attention in the classroom. Issues such as problem solving, efficient completion of tasks, and difficulties with organization and planning are areas of interest. The diagnosis of an Attention Deficit Disorder may assist a child by documenting his attention difficulties and providing an opportunity for accommodations such as a 504 plan or IEP within a school setting.
Testing for an Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and broader executive-functioning difficulties might include cognitive testing, neuropsychological measures, educational measures, and specific tests to assess various components of attention problems such as working memory, sustained attention, and processing speed. We conduct the most comprehensive ADHD evals in Rhode Island.
Tests to measure attention difficulties include the Conners’ Continuous Performance Test, NEPSY-2, Conners’ Rating Scales – Revised, Brown ADD Scales, Disruptive Behavior Rating Scale, Automated Working Memory Assessment (AWMA), and The Delis-Kaplan Executive Function System(DKEFS).
